Four Seasons is making a hefty play in India. MSN reports that the luxury hotel operator is looking to expand its presence in India and is looking to sign three to four new hotel projects in the country over the next five years. Four Seasons currently operates 85 hotels, but only one in India, in Mumbai. Note: Four Seasons has taken on a management contract to operate a Four Seasons in Noida, which will be operational by 2014. It also has a project under construction in Bangalore.

"India is an important market for us and it will become more important in the coming years. We are looking to come up with hotel resorts at Rajasthan, Kerala and Goa," Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Vice President (Development) Asia Pacific Christopher Wong said, adding that it will only focus on doing projects in the right locations. Word is Four Seasons might also look to manage a hotel in Gugaon.
