Guy Bertaud is New General Manager of Monte-Carlo's Hôtel de Paris

Good news from Monaco: Guy Bertaud has been appointed General Manager of the Hôtel de Paris in Monte-Carlo.

During his 20-year career, Bertaud has held highly responsible positions in the luxury hotels sector, managing the Vendome Beirut in Lebanon and the Vendome Plaza Athénée in Paris. As the head of sizable teams, he coordinated several setting-up, development, renovation, repositioning and partnership projects. He has earned numerous awards for these establishments, including the "Intercontinental Torchbearer Award 2009" (Vendome Beirut) and the title of the "Best Hotel in the World" (Plaza Athénée).

A graduate of the ESSEC (the French School of Business and Economics) and the Maxim's Institute, he obtained a Master of Business Administration in 2003, while officiating as head of the Food & Beverage Department at the Hôtel Prince de Galles in Paris.

Bertaud feels that optimizing staff training is a major factor in improving the guest experience. Following the recent five-star classification of this luxury Monegasque hotel (and the entry into force of this standard in the Principality) he also hopes to reinforce its presence on luxury travel networks on an international level.

Guy Bertaud is 44, and is married with three children. He enjoys sailing, golf and antique cars, and devotes some of his time to sharing his knowledge through conferences and talks at training sessions on luxury brand strategies.
