The Fleming Villa
The Fleming Villa terrace affords guests tranquil views once enjoyed by James Bond creator Ian Fleming.

Whether it’s a desk where author Ian Fleming penned his 14 James Bond novels, a wrap-around veranda with an infinity edge pool, or a media room that also houses a pool table and a karaoke machine, these three Caribbean villas that have some over-the-top amenities that are sure to wow your VIPs heading to the region.

GoldenEye Hotel & Resort – The Fleming Villa (Jamaica)

GoldenEye Hotel & Resort, an Island Outpost property in Oracabessa Bay on Jamaica’s north coast, was the former home of famous author Ian Fleming—where he wrote all of his James Bond 007 books.

The Dream in St. James, Barbados
The Dream in St. James, Barbados, has five bedrooms that mix contemporary design with Caribbean chic

Fleming’s original desk still sits in his former villa, now known as The Fleming Villa, and is by far the best digs at this glamorous retreat that has attracted the likes of actor Johnny Depp and former U.S. President Bill Clinton

The Fleming Villa accommodates groups of up to 10 VIPs and comprises the original three-bedroom home, plus two new poolside cottages, a private swimming pool, media room, bar and direct access to the private Fleming Beach.

The resort’s spa has three open-air treatment rooms, one of which can accommodate couples. Nice touch: The spa can be reached via the lagoon, meaning VIPs can swim, kayak or paddleboard to their FieldSpa appointment. Note: Massages are also provided in-room.

The Gazebo has an all-day lounge and an evening-only restaurant serving local fare. Tip: Book a seat at one of the tables that line the water as it’s the ideal spot to catch the fiery sunset.

Advisors should direct queries about the restaurant to Food and Beverage Manager Mark Collins ([email protected]; 876-622-9007).

The Cliff House at Scrub Island Resort
The Cliff House at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, is perched above the azure waters of the British Virgin Islands.

The resort offers private transfers for guests at a fee. Hint: VIPs can choose to purchase the fast-track option at the airport, which allows them to bypass lines and expedites their service through customs. Note: There is a helipad on the property.

Advisors should reach out to Island Outpost’s Sales Representative Dominique Debay ([email protected]; 212-752-1416).

Villas of Distinction – The Dream (Barbados)

Tell VIPs heading to Barbados about a five-bedroom work of art appropriately named The Dream. Stashed away in the exclusive town of St. James, The Dream is a member of rental provider Villas of Distinction and mixes contemporary, cutting-edge design with Caribbean chic.

Nice touch: The master bedroom suite, located on the upper level, has its own private, romantic balcony, overlooking the enticing turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The ample living space with bar extends out onto the covered terraces and sundeck surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds and manicured lawns, tropical flowers and swaying palm trees.

Perhaps the villa’s best feature, however, is the 45-foot infinity- edge swimming pool and outdoor seating area complete with a pizza oven, barbecue grill, bar and chill-out area, a sunbathing terrace and more. Note: The Dream has direct access to the white-sand beach.

Get in touch with Tricia Beckles ([email protected]; 246-432-5050), concierge guest specialist, with any queries.

For spa treatments, the Elements Spa is located off property, but massages can also be requested in the villa. Note: All treatments should be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Hint: The most popular treatments are the Swedish Massage and the Prestige Facial. Nice touch: There are kid-friendly treatments for children looking to get pampered like mom and dad. Recommend either the Mini Princess Treatment or Kids Manicures and Pedicures.

Advisors should contact Sarah Young ([email protected]; 246-432-6826), spa director, to get the skinny on specific treatments and booking options.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, A-listers seeking indoor entertainment here will find an abundance of it in the Media Room from a roughly 70-inch plasma TV to a guest computer to a pool table. Nice touch: This room also has an extensive DVD library and a karaoke machine.

The Cliff House bedrooms
The Cliff House bedrooms have sweeping views of Trellis Bay and the island of Great Camanoe.

Note: The Dream offers concierge services and an attentive staff to ensure no detail is left unattended. The villa comes standard with a property manager, two maids, a laundress, a butler, a cook and a maintenance man. Hint: A night watchman is also available upon request.

Direct any questions to General Manager Andrea Brome ([email protected]; 246-432-5050).

Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina – The Cliff House (British Virgin Islands)

The Cliff House, one of seven villas at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, is a private two-bedroom villa estate providing VIPs with endless views of the Caribbean and surrounding islands.

It is perched above the azure waters of the British Virgin Islands and situated on the western edge of Scrub Island, creating sweeping views of the island of Great Camanoe to the west, while VIPs can also watch sailboats making their way across Trellis Bay in the distance.

The staff can meet just about any request, from wine-pairing dinners to private parties. We were told, in fact, a music promoter from Puerto Rico once booked a private band for his villa.

Swimming pool and sunbathing terrace
The Dream has an infinity-edge swimming pool and sunbathing terrace.

It’s in the details: The Cliff House is designed with local artwork, custom furnishing, wooden floors, king-size beds with high-thread-count luxury linens, natural stone flooring, bamboo ceiling fans and 42–inch-flat panel TVs. The floors of the living areas are finished with tropical hardwood and natural stone. Nice touch: Large sliding windows and doors, when fully open, invite the tropical breeze and impressive views.

Perhaps the best feature of this villa, however, is the large, wrap-around veranda that has an infinity-edge pool.

Luxury travel advisors should get in touch with Martin Smith ([email protected]; 284-394-3440), managing director, to reserve specifics for their top clients.

Dining delights: Executive Chef Davide Pugliese ([email protected]; 284-394-3440) has just joined the resort’s culinary team. He can set up any kind of meal that VIPs desire, but his specialty is Italian with a Caribbean flair.

A variety of wedding ceremony and reception packages can be arranged for up to 200. The private island can also be bought out by a large group or wedding party.
