Hot in Hong Kong- Vi Cool by Chef Sergi Arola

It looks like Chef Sergi Arola’s signature tapas concept is headed for global domination. From his Michelin-starred restaurant in Spain, the el Bulli alum headed to the W Hotel Paris last February to open the trendy Arola restaurant, where a see-and-be-seen crowd tucks into shared platters of seasonal haute cuisine called “Pica Pica.” He has since gone on to open Catalan eateries in Mumbai and, this fall, Hong Kong, when Vi Cool debuted in Harbour City. (The restaurant is run by Dining Concepts which has two dozen restos in its Asian portfolio.)

Vi Cool is a buzzed-about address, adored by both local gourmands and the international press. On the menu: the chef’s signature patatas bravas, croquetas, and the pizza-like dish called coca- Catalan flatbread topped with delicious ingredients like quail eggs, Iberico ham, and truffle butter.
