Hot in London: The Halkin Celebrates 20th Birthday

The Halkin, LondonYou've been at the top of your game as a boutique design hotel for 20 years...How to celebrate the big b-day? Why, invite Pierre Hermé, the "Picasso of Pastry," to create an exclusive afternoon tea menu! The Halkin--an integral part of the COMO hotels collection helmed by hotelier Christina Ong-- is pulling out all the stops to fete their 20th anniversary. Assouline, the Paris/NYC publishing house that specializes in luxury, is opening a pop-up “Culture Lounge” in the hotel bar to showcase their gorgeous coffee-table books. Fresh from debuting his first London “Macarons & Chocolats” Boutique on Lowndes Street, Pierre Hermé is creating an Afternoon Tea menu for The Halkin-- brimming with special anniversary macarons, cakes, and preserves-- available in September and October for both hotel guests and non-residents.

And in September, The Halkin will unveil new 20th anniversary suites at the hotel: two light-filled COMO Suites and one Belgravia Suite featuring balconies overlooking the hotel gardens. A variety of special 20th anniversary packages are available, and we hear that the hotel will be announcing a special contest with the chance to win a wine dinner for 20 people in the Private Dining Room at nahm, The Halkin’s award-winning Thai restaurant.
