There's a swanky new crash pad for travelers to the elegant Russian city of St. Petersburg. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Rocco Forte's Hotel Astoria has been undergoing a big makeover (to the tune of millions of dollars). The icing on the cake is the new Czar's Suite, designed by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte's Director of Design.
Situated on the 6th floor, the sumptuous suite has glorious views over St. Isaac's square. There's a library full of Russian classics; a dining area (serviced by a full kitchen) that can be turned into a board room; and a gym with a spa treatment area. The decor-- like antique gold lamps that were returned to the hotel from President Putin’s Konstantinovsky Palace-- reflect the hotel's location in the heart of St. Petersburg, just a stone's throw from The Hermitage.
