Hotel Buzz: Conrad Seoul to Open in Late 2012

Here’s another 2012 luxury hotel opening that we’re excited about. After making a splash in New York with an all-suite property in Manhattan’s Battery Park, and opening the enormous casino resort in Macao, Conrad will be debuting in South Korea at the end of the year. Housed in one of the three towers of the International Finance Center (IFC), the Conrad Seoul will be located in Yeouido Business District, aka “the Korean Wall Street," and will be attached to the Cineplex, Mall, and subway system.

The 434 guest rooms—starting at 48 square meters—will have views of the urban skyline, including Yeouido park and the Han River. Techies will appreciate the "Apple" based in-room technology with free wifi and a personalized I-phone remote control. In-room espresso machines are also a nice perk. There will be a health club and spa with a heated pool and 8-hole golf range; extensive meeting facilities; and five different restaurants and bars. Both The Grill and The Executive Lounge will be located on the 37th floor, offering panoramic views over Seoul.
