Hotel de Crillon in Paris Auctions off Wine Cellar, Furniture

Hotel de Crillon, ParisApril in Paris… If you’re visiting the City of Light this week, you may want to stake your claim to a piece of history as Artcurial will be auctioning off a fabulous selection of goods from the Hotel de Crillon. The majestic palace hotel on the Place de la Concorde has shuttered for a big facelift. (Rumor has it that Rosewood has been tapped to manage it after its renovation.)

There’s been a lot of buzz in France about the Crillon’s auction which includes sumptuous furniture and unique items like the piano played by Leonard Bernstein during his stays and the gorgeous bar counter, designed by 20th-century sculptor Cesar (for whom the famous French film awards are named). Connoisseurs are already drooling over the selections from the wine cellar- including a rare Louis XIII Black Pearl Remy Martin cognac with a list price of 7,000 euros. The series of auctions will take place from April 18-22. For more information, visit www.artcurial.com.
