Golfers will be pleased to learn about a new hotel opening next to one of the world’s most legendary (and oldest) courses: St Andrews in Scotland. The Hotel du Vin group-- comprised of 15 elegant, city-center boutique hotels across the UK-- is debuting a hotel in April in a prime location next to the course. Housed in a stone and slate mansion overlooking West Sands beach, the Hotel du Vin St Andrews is two minutes’ walk from the R&A Clubhouse and the 1st Tee on the Old Course.
There will be 22 rooms and suites equipped with rain showers, Nespresso machines, free wifi, and luxurious beds wrapped in Egyptian liens and duvets. Decked out with reclaimed floorboards and restored fireplaces, the French-style bistro will serve classic dishes paired with wines from the 500-bottle cellar. There’s a special emphasis on seasonal, locally-grown vegetables. Ma Bells, the bar that’s a beloved local institution, is also being refurbished. The Hotel du Vin St Andrews will also have a boardroom and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 120 guests.
