Los Angeles' culture scene just keeps getting better and better: We hear that Tony- and Golden Globe-winner (not to mention Oscar nominee) Hugh Jackman will bring his one-man show (which broke records on Broadway a few years back) to the City of Angels for one night only.
And no, that's not a Dreamgirls reference. That's the title of the show. Hugh Jackman… One Night Only will debut this October at The Dolby Theatre and will include musical entertainment and special Hollywood film moments, all to benefit the MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund).
Broadway.com notes that when the show was on the East Coast (with the title "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway") two years ago, it included American Songbook standards like “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Luck Be a Lady,” Oklahoma!’s “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” Carousel’s “Soliloquy,” and a medley reprisal of his Tony-winning role as Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.
