Istanbul Music Festival Begins This Week

Music fans will want to head over to Istanbul this coming month: The 40th Annual Istanbul Music Festival will include performances by classical musicians, arts organizations and some of Turkey's top composers. 

The month-long festival of music and dance will include two world premieres, three Turkish premieres and 23 concerts in eight venues throughout Istanbul and performed by more than 750 local and international artists. The opening concert will be Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony played by the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic orchestra under the direction of Sascha Goetzel.

The festival will take place between May 31 and June 29.
