Jumeirah to Build Six-Star Hotel in Edinburgh?

Scotsman.com is reporting that Scotland might get its first six-star hotel in Edinburgh after a series of setbacks to the development in Glasgow’s international financial services district.

Guy Crawford, head of Jumeirah, the luxury operator that was due to run the super-deluxe property in Glasgow said the group remains interested in setting up in either city following the collapse this summer of project developer BLN Property Developments.

In Glasgow, the glass-fronted tower would have featured 160 rooms, 85 serviced apartments and the country’s largest ballroom, plus various other leisure and dining facilities.
