Just Back: The James Royal Palm in Miami

Here's why Miami is a great weekend getaway: If you leave from an East Coast gateway you can be at the beach or poolside easily before 10 am. Sold.

On a recent weekend jaunt to Miami, Luxury Travel Advisor camped out at The James Royal Palm in South Beach. Set on A-list Collins Avenue, The James Royal Palm brought that classic Miami Art Deco flavor to the table, with a refreshing, youthful and modern luxe touch that have us itching for more.

We checked into a Deluxe Ocean King room, with its own balcony and perfect views of the beach, pool and ocean. Nice touch: The decor was nautical-meets-quirky hipster (a combo that you may not necessarily think jives, but it worked for us!). Our favorite touch was the Ctrl+Alt+Del throw pillows.

The James has its own private beach club complete with cabanas, lounge chairs, umbrellas and attentive service. Coated in tanning oil, sipping on a pineapple and vodka blend, while nippling bits of fresh fruit is not a bad way to spend a Saturday. Note: The same service is available poolside.

The hotel is also home to a spa, two restaurants and is within walking distance to Miami's trendy Lincoln Road.
