The Turkish Riviera’s hotel scene is red-hot with exciting new openings. After Mandarin Oriental made a splash last year, Jumeirah announced a new management contract starting May 1, and on the not-so-distant horizon, Viceroy will also open a resort in 2017.
The latest to arrive in Bodrum is JW Marriott, the second in Turkey for the brand. Slated to open on May 15, the JW Marriott Bodrum is perched on a hilltop in Yalikavak town on the Bodrum Peninsula overlooking the Aegean Sea. There will be 107 rooms and suites, each equipped with sea-facing balconies to take advantage of the views. Note that there are two-bedroom suites designed for families traveling together.
The hotel is also targeting the destination wedding market, with lots of event rooms and venue options. Facilities include a sprawling spa, a swimming pool, Kids Club, fitness room, and seven different restaurants to choose from. For adventure enthusiasts, the private beach has a dock for boat departures.
