With a lavish hotel opening soon in Cusco, and the reflagging of New York’s Essex House, JW Marriott has been in the news a lot lately. But those noteworthy hotels aren’t the only two properties we’re keeping an eye on. Marriott International has also announced the opening of its first JW Marriott resort in Panama—a conversion of the existing Bristol Buenaventura located on the country’s Pacific coast, about 80 miles southwest of the capital.
Slated to debut on December 3, the resort has 118 guest rooms, five restaurants, a fitness center, spa, kids club, a new 18-hole Nicklaus Design golf course, and a beach club with butler service—all nestled on 1,000 acres.
