La Bastide de Gordes Reopens in Provence after a Renovation

La Bastide de Gordes, France

Last October, La Bastide de Gordes—a member of Leading Hotels of the World—closed its doors for a major overhaul. This summer, they’re flinging them open once again for guests to discover some of the prettiest countryside in Provence. Built at the edge of a cliff in the heart of Gordes, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, La Bastide de Gordes is decorated in the style of an 18th century castle, with an impressive art collection adorning the public spaces (some 4,000 pieces).

There are French style formal gardens overlooking the valley, and a 30-meter swimming pool which runs along the 12th century ramparts of the Bastide. In the kitchen, award-winning chef Pierre Gagnaire has taken the reins. And last but not least: a new reception hall has been opened that has incredible panoramic views (we hear wedding bells!)
