The Swiss village of Gstaad is prepping for another stellar ski season. Soon the world’s fashionable jetset will descend on the Alps for winter frolicking, both on and off the pistes. In big news for hotel junkies: Le Grand Bellevue will be reopening this month after a top-to-bottom renovation of its 57 guest rooms and public areas. The 100-year-old hotel, which is family run, now has two additional chalets annexed to the property.
The renovation kicked off last March, with the public areas complete for summer guests, followed by the guest rooms this fall, now fully remodeled and ready for their big unveiling . The vibe is cozy, mountain-chic with elegant designer touches (we love the oversized lamps in the lobby). For such a small hotel, facilities are deluxe: a fully-equipped spa, seminar space, and two restaurants, Leonard’s and Le Petit Chalet. Also located on site (in the Bellevue’s beautiful park) is the Gstaad Yacht Club.
