London's Stafford Resumes 'Pubs Talks' Series

Great news for London-bound guests: “Pubs Talk” at The Stafford London by Kempinski is back! Starting tomorrow, August 23, the free event series will give patrons intimate access to in-house experts, artists, and luxury brand ambassadors. Each hour-long, interactive lecture will focus on a different theme—from food to fashion to photography and more. “Pub Talk” is open to both hotel guests and the public.

Kicking off the series is “Gourmet Soirée” lead by Executive Chef Brendan Fyldes. Fyldes will be transforming the hotel’s more than 380-year-old wine cellars into a culinary classroom. Students will take on the role of sous-chef as they learn how to prepare tantalizing tastes for their next party. Interactive cooking demonstrations will provide the chance to chop, dice, or even sauté, as they prepare a menu inspired by the rustic British cuisine of the hotel’s new restaurant, The Lyttelton. Once the prep is complete, everybody can enjoy the end results. Complimentary wine pairings will accompany the bites. Recipe cards will be provided for each budding chef to take home.

Future events include:
•    September 6: Bespoke Treasures – Discuss fine, custom jewelry, what it represents, and how to commission it with London jeweler Patrick Wyatt.

•    September 19: Cigars and Fine Wine, a Perfect Pair? – Collect empirical data to answer the query under the guidance of resident Master Sommelier Gino Nardella and fine cigar purveyors Hunters & Frankau.

•    October 4: Capturing the Soul – View rare pieces by renowned portrait photographer Alistair Morrison, and then learn his secrets for capturing the essence of a subject on film.

•    October 18: Mixing with a Master – Step behind the bar to try a hand at crafting cocktails with Bar Manager Benoit Provost.

Reservations are required as space is limited. E-mail [email protected] to reserve a spot.

The first “Pub Talk” (“Gourmet Soirée” with Executive Chef Brendan Fyldes) will take place on Tuesday, August 23 from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.
