Luxury Hotel Buzz: The Pendry San Diego Opens Soon

The talk of the town in San Diego? The soon-to-open Pendry Hotel, which will be the first property for the new luxury brand from Montage Hotels & Resorts. Slated to debut in January 2017, Pendry San Diego will take up an entire block at Fifth Avenue and J Street in the Gaslamp Quarter. There will be 317 rooms, including 36 suites, designed to resemble lofts kitted out with luxurious marble bathrooms, artwork curated by Tom Adler, luxe bedding by Fili D’Oro and and bath amenities by MiN.

The Pendry promises to lure the local crowd with six different restaurants and bars: contemporary coastal cuisine by famed chef Jose "JoJo" Ruiz at Lionfish, small bites and drinks at Pool House, bespoke cocktails at Fifth & Rose, craft beers at Nason’s Beer Hall- not to mention the Oxford Social Club for the late-night crowd. A highlight promises to be Provisional Kitchen, Café & Mercantile—a restaurant cum marketplace situated in a greenhouse. Rounding out the facilities: meeting rooms, a 24-hour fitness room, and a 6,200 square foot spa. Stay tuned!
