Luxury Resort in Italy Offers Family Fairytale Package

FlorenceRocco Forte's Hotel Savoy, a luxury resort in the heart of Florence, Italy, unveils the new, family friendly “Pinocchio Experience," offering discounted room rates and exclusive, Pinocchio themed activities in celebration of the classic fairytale's birthplace.

Barbara Bersellini, an acclaimed restorer and member of the Carlo Lorenzino Pinocchio's Cultural Association, presides over a three hour educational workshop wherein young guests will paint wooden jewelry and pencil boxes using traditional Florentine artisan techniques.  Bersellini will finish the objects by hand and deliver the final pieces to guests’ rooms, to be kept as one-of-a-kind mementos.

To demonstrate the fairytale’s enduring cultural influence, families are also invited to take a curated tour of the city and appreciate Pinocchio inspired crafts, such as wooden toys at La Bottega di Mastro Geppetto, jewellery at Penko’s and La Bottega delgi Zecchini di Pinocchio, and old-fashioned cakes at Pasticceria Sieni.

The package starts at $630 plus 10% VAT, and includes one room for up to two adults, one room for up to two children, a continental breakfast buffet, and a free copy of Pinocchio.  There is a two night minimum, and the decoration workshop is an additional $340 for one child, $365 for two, $470 for three, and $495 for four.  The package is available year round, excluding August.
