In case you hadn't heard, Hong Kong was alive last night. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group celebrated 50 years at the flagship Hong Kong property and rolled out the red carpet for more than 800 celebrities, dignitaries and society guests from around the world.

We hear some VIPs included Dame Helen Mirren and her husband Taylor Hackford; NYC-based fashion designer Vivienne Tam; Frederick Forsyth, a New York Times best-selling author; Bryan Ferry, who worked on The Great Gatsby soundtrack with Jay-Z and Baz Lurhmann; Casino Royale actress Caterina murino; ballerina Darceey Bussell; Olivier Krug, of Champagne fame; and chef Pierre Gagnaire.
