Metropolitan by COMO Miami Beach

We’ve been waiting with bated breath for the opening of the Miami hotel by COMO Hotels and Resorts. (Back in August, we reported on this “subtle and sublime” property, promoted by management as emanating an “anti-South Beach” vibe.) Now we hear that the opening date has been pushed back to January 2014. Just steps from the sand in the Historic District, the Metropolitan Miami Beach was decorated by Italian designer, Paola Navone.

The 74 light-filled rooms have an Art Deco style with a pastel color palette (pink and sea green). Some suites have views of the Intracoastal Waterway, while some oceanview rooms have their own private balconies overlooking the Atlantic ocean.

We’re most excited about the COMO Shambhala Spa, located on the hotel’s 8th floor. Offering signature COMO Shambhala therapies, the spa will have four treatment rooms, a fitness center, and an outdoor yoga terrace. The best part of all? The rooftop hydrotherapy pool with ocean views.
