Miami's Hotel Victor Now a Thompson Hotel

Thompson Hotels is expanding south—as in Miami. The boutique hotel has added the Hotel Victor to its portfolio. Thompson Hotels will rebrand the hotel as the Thompson Ocean Drive through a multimillion dollar renovation to both guest rooms and public spaces, to be completed in early 2012. Thompson Hotels management of the hotel is effective immediately.

Hotel Victor was originally opened in 1936, and underwent a major restoration by designer Jacques Garcia in 2004. The hotel, located on Ocean Drive, has 90 guest rooms, most with ocean views; an infinity pool; 6,000-square-foot Spa V; the Northern Italian BICE Ristorante and BICE Cafe; three lounges and bars; as well as 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces.

"We at Thompson are particularly inspired by the opportunity to reinvent such a historically significant hotel," says Jason Pomeranc, co-owner Thompson Hotels. "We believe that the Thompson Ocean Drive will reflect the spirit of fashion, entertainment, and design that has made South Beach such a unique destination."
