Monteverdi Tuscany Unveils a New Spa

Monteverdi Tuscany

Halfway between Rome and Florence, the Tuscan village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro witnessed a major restoration in 2012, when the Monteverdi Tuscany opened to much fanfare and celebration. An American couple refurbished many of the ancient stone buildings in the hamlet (including the 13th century chapel), giving it a new lease on life as a 10-room hotel (and a collection of villas).

The latest news from Tuscany: On June 1, the hotel unveiled their new spa and wellness center. One of the signature amenities is the mineral or wine baths in outdoor soaking tubs overlooking the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Treatments include “made-to-order massages,” anti-ageing therapy, and facial scrubs that incorporate Tuscan herbs and other locally sourced ingredients.

The spa products are from Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, one of the world’s oldest apothecaries, which is based in Florence and datesback to the 13th century.

Mark your calendars! To celebrate the spa’s opening, Monteverdi is hosting a Wellness & Longevity Seminar from October 10-17. Daily yoga, meditation, and massages are on the menu, along with conversations with leading health experts.
