We’re big fans of Caudalíe, the French skin-care line that harnesses the antioxidant power of grapes and champions “wine therapy” in its spas. Red wine barrel bath or crushed cabernet scrub, anyone? From their base in the Bordeaux vineyards, Caudalíe has opened vinothérapie spas at Marqués de Riscal (the Frank Gehry-designed hotel in Rioja, Spain), the Hotel Les Ottomans in Istanbul, and Les Sources de Caudalíe in Bordeaux (where a suite was designed by fashion darling Maison Martin Margiela).
The latest Caudalíe spa to crop up in wine country? L’AND Vineyards Wine Resort in Upper Alentejo, Portugal. Guests can now partake in signature Caudalie treatments at the new eco-friendly spa located on 165 vine-planted acres just 45 minutes from Lisbon. The resort itself is contemporary in style, reinterpreting the Roman and Arabesque atrium villa, with décor featuring wood and natural stone. Ten of the suites have fully retractable ceilings which make for incredible sky views, along with private gardens and plunge pools.
