New General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet

Both of Four Seasons' Istanbul properties have new general managers: Last week, we reported that Leonardo Baiocchi is the new GM at the brand's Bosphorus property, and now we hear that The Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet is bringing Félix Murillo back to the team after 15 years, this time as general manager.

"It’s so exciting to be back at this hotel, and a wonderful time to be in Istanbul,” says Murillo, who was in charge of food and beverage operation in the opening team that transformed a century-old prison into the 65-room gem back in 1996.

Born in Madrid, he started his professional career as assistant chief steward at Four Seasons Hotel London in 1993 after completing his education in hotel management in Switzerland and further training in his hometown. Since 1993, he has held various responsibilities in operations and on the opening teams of many of the company’s leading hotels, including those in London, Istanbul, Chicago, Miami, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and most recently, Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus.

Murillo undertook different responsibilities during his early career in food and beverage and was promoted to Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Mexico, D.F in 2005. Following two years in Mexico, he moved to Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, where he also stayed for two years. In 2009 he came back to Turkey for the opening of brand’s second hotel in Istanbul, where he stayed as Hotel Manager until April 2011.
