New in London: Thompson Hotels to Open the Belgraves

Thompson Hotels, the Belgraves, LondonThompson has hopped the pond. The hotel group behind the Hollywood Roosevelt, 60 Thompson in New York’s SoHo district, and Miami’s Hotel Victor are prepping to open their first transatlantic property in London’s posh Belgravia neighborhood. According to BBC Travel, the opening date for the Belgraves is January 16, 2012. The hotel philosophy? A blend of “traditional British hospitality with an American bohemian attitude,” The Thompson Hotels experience in London means supremely comfortably guest rooms (85 of them) decorated by designer Tara Bernerd and a smash hit of a restaurant inspired by Chef Mark Hix's travels from around the world.

To complement the Hix Belgravia, Mark’s Bar will feature commissioned artwork by British artist Mat Collishaw and a “cigar garden." We can’t wait to check out the chic lobby that’s “set to become a second home for both hotel guests and London's gliteratti alike.” Just a stone’s throw from Sloane Square, the Belgraves is located at 20 Chesham Place.
