The historic city of Nanjing-- recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China—has a dazzling new luxury hotel. Opened this summer, the Grand Mansion, A Luxury Collection Hotel was designed by the award-winning I.M. Pei Architects with HBA Interior Design, taking inspiration from Nanjing’s historic role as the nation’s capital during the Ming dynasty, and then again as the capital of the Republic of China at the dawn of the 20th century.
There are 158 rooms including 15 suites. One of the most striking features of the hotel is the Travellers' Library—one of China’s largest hotel libraries, stocked with 3,000 books and antique items. Other facilities include a number of F&B outlets including a tea lounge, a fitness center, indoor heated pool, spa, and multiple meeting rooms and a grand ballroom.
Starwood’s Luxury Collection continues to grow by leaps and bounds, with over 100 hotels expected to be opened globally by the end of the year. This is the seventh Luxury Collection hotel in China.
