Luis Salvajoli, the Relais & Chateaux chef who helms the resort’s kitchen, has a penchant for fresh local fare; the organic garden provides most of the restaurant’s vegetables. In fact, you’ll start off your cooking class with a guided visit to the kitchen garden, where the chef will introduce a variety of herbs.
Next you’ll head to the small private island to learn about identifying and choosing fresh fish, before preparing and seasoning it for the barbecue grill. (This resort island is also a divine spot for a private candle-lit dinner facing the emerald sea.) The class concludes with lunch, where you’ll feast on the dishes you prepared yourself, all paired with the right wines. Each participant takes away a special Ponta dos Ganchos gourmet kit.
