Luxury travel advisors should tell their art-loving VIPs about some dramatic changes at Las Alamandas, a luxury resort in Jalisco, hidden on Mexico’s famed Costalegre.

The renovation to the boutique, all-suite resort adds a garden villa, Casa San Isidro, with two suites; a house, Casa la Loma, with two suites; an art gallery and lounge and an open-air rooftop bar-lounge.

Other improvements included adding Jacuzzis in most suites; completely remodeling three beachfront villas, including Casa del Sol which houses the resort’s Presidential Suite; refreshing and enlivening the three existing garden villas; and resurfacing the tennis court.

Note: The newly built villa, Casa San Isidro, has two private suites with Jacuzzis and large baths with oversize showers with two showerheads.

Casa del Domo, Casa Isabel and Casa del Sol were completely revamped with such features as white-polished cement floors, walk-in closets and Jacuzzis.

With the additions of Casa la Loma and Casa San Isidro, the resort now has seven villas and one house with a total of 18 suites. Twelve of the 18 suites now have Jacuzzis.

Hint: Las Alamandas has its own landing strip, so private flyers are no more than five minutes away from the resort when they land. Nice Touch: The resort can arrange for a private airplane transfer from Puerto Vallarta directly to the landing strip at Las Alamandas.

A Suite Terrace
A Suite Terrace lets guests enjoy the natural setting of the resort.

Note: Las Alamandas comprises 1,500 acres and is a sanctuary for many different types of birds. They include the pelican, wood stork, roseate spoonbill, black ibis, barn swallow, osprey, American coot, American crestel, northern jacana and tricolored heron. Tip: The resort can also arrange for a private Bird Island tour with a picnic on the beach.

Luxury travel advisors should contact General Manager Dorota Antoszkiewicz ([email protected]; 011-52-322-285-5500) to make arrangement for their ace clients, such as arranging a picnic lunch on one of the four nearby private beaches. If they’re so inclined, they can also travel to the beach on horseback.
