New York City is emerging from the disaster of Hurricane Sandy, and things are beginning to get back to normal. Some Broadway and off-Broadway shows will resume tomorrow, and some restaurants throughout the city are open for business. Eater NY has a list of places where people can go out and enjoy an evening out on the town.
As of Tuesday afternoon, these are just a few of the restaurants that had announced openings.
Shake Shack: The Upper West Side, Theater District, Upper East Side, and Brooklyn locations are open for business. The Theater District location is serving a limited menu of burgers, fries, and sodas.
Kyotofu: Offering 50 percent off sake all night until midnight.
Rattle N Hum: The bar is open, and the kitchen will start taking orders within the next half hour.
Northern Spy Food Co.: The restaurant is not fully operational, but will be offering some free meals tonight.
Circo: Open for dinner tonight. Mauro Maacioni notes, "Mrs. Maccioni is manning the pasta station!!!"
Pok Pok NY: The front room will be open tonight, and the back yard will be closed.
Landmarc: The Time Warner Center location will open at 4 p.m.
Hillstone: A rep notes: "Although the Flatiron counterpart is temporarily closed due to the power outage, Hillstone in Midtown is open for lunch and dinner today."
JoJo: Jean-Georges's East Side restaurant will open tonight at 5:30 p.m.
Battersby: This Brooklyn hot spot will reopen tonight at 5:30 p.m.
Barney Greengrass: A tipster reports that the deli and cafe are open.
Little Town: Open. Probably the only place to get a garbage plate tonight.
Ardesia: Mandy Oser writes in: "For any and all stir crazy and thirsty Hell's Kitchen residents we will open the bar today at 5 p.m.. Kitchen remains closed until tomorrow."
5 Napkin Burger: The Hell's Kitchen and Astoria locations are open for business.
Prime Meats: Open tonight at 5 p.m.
Silver Moon: This bakery and cafe reopened this morning.
P.J. Clarke's: The Third Avenue location has been open since 11 a.m. today.
The Modern: Reopening tonight at 5 p.m. Tarte flambees for everyone.
Gran Electrica and Colonie: Both restaurants will open for dinner tonight at 6 p.m.
Reunion Bar: Open from 5:30 p.m. till midnight, with $6 hurricanes all night long.
Le Comptoir: Open for dinner tonight.
Roebling Tea Room: Open as of 6 p.m. tonight.
Mermaid Inn UWS: Open for business (and extremely crowded).
Four and Twenty Blackbirds: Now open for pie and coffee.
Brooklyn Star: This Williamsburg favorite will be offering fried chicken dinners tonight.
The Bedford: Open for lunch, and will stay open till 11 p.m. tonight.
Nitehawk: The restaurant and the movie theater are open today.
Maison Premiere: This Williamsburg cocktail den will open tonight at 4 p.m.
Fourth Wall Restaurants: Quality Meats, Park Avenue Autumn, Smith & Wollensky, Maloney & Porcelli, and The Post House will all be open for dinner tonight. Anyone who lost power during the storm will receive a free glass of prosecco, and each restaurant will donate the majority of their proceeds (or $10,000) to the American Red Cross.
