Nordic Star Chefs to Take Over New York City for First Nordic Food Festival

Honest Cooking Media LLC, a culinary magazine, will be teaming up with Restaurant Aquavit and the International Culinary Center (ICC) for the first ever New York City Nordic food festival, NORTH, from October 2 to 7.

New Yorkers will have the chance to see local Nordic chefs like Marcus Jernmark (Aquavit), Mads Refslund (Acme), Fredrik Berselius (Aska), Daniel Burns (Luksus) and Carl Kristian Frederiksen (Aamanns Copenhagen) cook and talk about their Nordic heritage. But they will also have the opportunity to taste and learn from some of the most amazing chefs flown in from the Nordic region, including Matt Orlando (Amass), Sasu Laukkonen (Chef et Sommelier), Gunnar Karl Gislason (DILL), Gustav Tradgardh (Restaurant Sjomagasinet), and Frode Selvaag. More international chefs are being added in the upcoming weeks.

Cooking classes and master classes at The International Culinary Center will be taught by Nordic chefs, and attendees will garner hands-on experience cooking classic Nordic dishes. There will also be several exclusive dinners throughout the weekend, where Nordic star chefs will collaborate with the local chefs like Jernmark and Refslund.
