Let the countdown begin. One of the Caribbean’s hottest new addresses in prepping its debut this month. After acquiring Hôtel Saint-Barth Isle de France in July 2013, LVMH Hotel Management has been renovating the island resort to great effect. In just two weeks’ time (on October 15, 2014), we’ll be able to get a peek inside the Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France when it reopens for the season. This is the third Cheval Blanc maison in the group’s portfolio, after Cheval Blanc Randheli (Maldives) and Cheval Blanc Courchevel (French Alps).
There will be 40 suites, bungalows and villas, designed in a contemporary style to reflect St Barth’s heritage. The Beach Suites, directly opening on Flamands Bay, have panoramic views, while the Fisherman Cottage is a private enclave for a family or group of friends.
As we reported back in June, the hotel’s biggest perk, besides its swanky Guerlain spa and high-tech fitness center, is the “Big Blue Escape.” Boarding a private, 69-foot yacht for a sailing adventure, guests will be treated to a fresh lobster lunch on Saline Beach, an exclusive Guerlain spa ritual onboard plus sunset cocktails and tapas.
