Opera and Broadway Merge for Avery Fisher Hall Concert

In New York's art scene, the worlds of Broadway and opera only occasionally overlap, but the upcoming New York Philharmonic concert at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall will be a notable exception: Iconic operatic baritone Nathan Gunn will be paired with two-time Tony award nominee Kelli O'Hara for a one-night-only celebration of Broadway's Golden Age.

The concert, which will be held on March 21, will feature songs from such Broadway icons as Richard Rodgers, Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein II, Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, Comden & Green, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. (For the record, the last two are the most contemporary of the lot, with 1957's West Side Story as the most recent show featured.)
