All eyes are on the French Riviera at the moment for the annual Cannes Film Festival. (For tips on where to stay and what to do in the glamorous Mediterranean town, see our Cannes article in the April issue.) And in just a few weeks time, Pinel & Pinel—the Paris luxury trunk-maker—will be setting up shop at the Carlton Hotel, literally, with a pop-up store right on La Croisette. Pinel & Pinel has established a reputation for its careful craftsmanship and innovation, with contemporary ski trunks, limited edition Picnic Trunks for Krug Champagne, and custom Christmas decorations created last year for Shangri-La Paris. (The luxury goods are often high-tech and made with crocodile skin, sting ray, or full grain leather, coupled with carbon or titanium.)

This first “boutique éphémère” will be open from July 1- September 15, exhibiting the summer collection of trunks along with accessories, luggage, hand bags, and leather goods. This pop-up store will be the first stop on a tour of France’s palace hotels. Pinel & Pinel’s flagship store is located at 22 rue Royale in Paris.
