As the dead of summer approaches, nothing sounds more refreshing to us than a poolside treat. Fortunately, the Hotel Bel-Air and The Beverly Hills Hotel have heard our cries.

The Dorchester Collection hotels of LA (where names like Dean Martin, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor used to frolic) are adding a splash of fun to their poolside experiences with "pop-up" refreshments and added service enhancements offered complimentary throughout the day.

At the Hotel Bel-Air, guests can enjoy Dip n Dots; ice cream sundaes; chocolate dipped banana coins; frozen grape skewers; push pops (both alcoholic and virgin); mini lemonade slushes and sun-glass cleaning. Cool touch: Therapists from La Prairie Spa will be poolside to offer reflexology foot massages at $45 for 15 minutes and $85 for 30 minutes.

While at The Beverly Hills Hotel, sun worshippers can enjoy mini soft serve cones; frozen peanut butter cups; otter pops; mojito pops; mini laval flows; kiwi-strawberry lemonade coolers; Li HingMui Pineapple; sun-glass cleaning; and Evian mist spray.
