Radisson Blu Strand Stockholm Launches Garbo Suite

Here's one to check out: To celebrate its 100th anniversary, historic boutique hotel Radisson Blu Strand Stockholm has designed a suite after one of its most famous patrons. Swedish-born Greta Garbo, a regular guest at the Stand Hotel, first visited the hotel’s rooftop terrace as an aspiring starlet in 1920s. After becoming a major name in Hollywood, the Strand became her favorite place to stay in Stockholm, and her family continues to frequent the hotel. Radisson Blu collaborated with Garbo’s family to create this new suite, which combines artwork and textiles from Garbo’s movies with pieces by Swedish designers.

Swedish stylist Maria Nordin used Garbo’s costumes and jewelry to create the suite’s black and gold color scheme. She combined pieces by local designers, such as furniture by Sits and Frejas Boning, and lighting by Kamelo, with artifacts from the official Greta Garbo Museum in Hogsby, Sweden.

Radisson Blu Strand Stockholm is located on the city’s harbor, within walking distance to the Old City (Gamla Stan), Royal Palace and shopping in Ostermalm.
