Mauritania's hotel development is on the rise: According to Hotelier Middle East, Abu Dhabi-based Rotana Hotel Management Corporation has signed a deal to open a new 230-room property in the African nation's capital, Nouakchott, in late 2014.

The management contract to open the five-star hotel was signed with Al Majmoua Almouritania pour l’Investissement (MMI), and it will be opened under the Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana brand.
