If you’re lucky enough to do your holiday shopping in the fashion capital of Milan this year, be sure to stop by the Opificio JM pop-up store on via Sant’Andrea in the city’s Golden Triangle. Actor John Malkovich wears many hats; designer (and bon vivant) being one of them. Enamored with Italy and the Italian way of life, Malkovich set up a concept store in Tuscany in June 2010 with an eye on sustainability, championing local artisans and their culture. In addition to the actor’s own Technobohemian clothing line, the original Opificio JM in Prato sells gourmet food, furniture, pret-a-porter apparel, jewelry, ceramics, metal goods and glassworks. In October, Malkovich unveiled a pop-up store in Milan selling all the same fabulous (and eclectic) stuff. This temporary shop will disappear on December 31, 2011- so get it while you can.
