Sofitel Makes Casablanca Debut

Big news for Morocco: Sofitel has made its debut in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, with Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche

The 24-story hotel is located right in the city's business district. Designers Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet used Moorish trimmings for the 141 bedrooms and 30 suites, all of which have a view of the city. (We're especially excited by the top-floor Penthouse villa, which has private access and a huge terrace with uninterrupted views.)

Foodies will also be in luck: Mourad Mahfoud, Moroccan chef of L’Arabesque restaurant, who trained in Paris, combines French cuisine with local seasonal products. L’Atelier Oriental mixes flavors from the Maghreb, Arabia, Persia and Asia, and the La Casart bar is the latest addition to Casablanca’s nightlife scene. The bar lounge is dedicated to art, and its paintings and sculptures fit in perfectly with the decor, in particular René Caussanel’s mural “Jaune Soleil” (Yellow Sun).

This is the second Sofitel to open in Morocco in 2012, and the eighth overall in the kingdom.

The hotel is located at Rue Sidi Belyout, 20000 in Casablanca. For more information, visit www.sofitel.com.
