Sofitel So Singapore

Ever since designer Karl Lagerfeld created the ”Lion’s Seal emblem” for the Sofitel So Singapore, the buzz about this new luxury hotel has been almost tangible. After much anticipation, the property will debut on Saturday, May 31 inside a heritage building in Singapore’s Central Business District. Behind the neoclassical façade you’ll find a trendy rooftop pool bar called Hi-So, a gym with a rock climbing wall and personal trainers, and a gold-tiled pool.

The 134 guest rooms were designed by Isabelle Miaja. (Touches include specially commissioned artwork and illuminated light boxes, high above each MyBed, which were inspired by French cupolas.) Directed by General Manager Tony Chisholm, the Sofitel So Singapore has a real focus on design. The Xperience restaurant will be inviting famed guest chefs to take the helm in the kitchen; first up will be Michelin-starred Chef Yuichi Kamimura from July 1-July 5, 2014.
