Designer Philippe Starck’s hotel projects- like the SLS Beverly Hills and Le Royal Monceau- tend to leave guests a little star-struck. So imagine our delight in hearing the buzz about a new resort in Bali that’s to be entirely decorated by Starck himself. According to HotelChatter, The Stairs will be “the first top-to-bottom Philippe Starck-designed villa resort in Asia.”
The 12-villa resort will be located in Petitenget near Seminyak, and is slated for a 2014 opening after construction begins this February 2013. We hear the one-bedroom villa lofts will come with private pools and indoor-outdoor living rooms. There will be a trendy restaurant and café, but no word yet whether there will be a spa on site.
