Summer in France: Avignon's Palais des Papes Open at Night

Palais des Papes, Avignon

Here’s a wonderful piece of news for your clients traveling to Provence this summer: Avignon’s Palais des Papes-- the sprawling Gothic palace that was home to the Avignon Papacy in the 14th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site-- will be open at night in August. Classical music concerts will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays starting at 9 pm. The other days of the week, your clients can partake in sunset strolls along the Pont d’Avignon, through the jardin du Doms, finishing at the cloister of the Palais des Papes for dinner (almost impossibly romantic!) Here’s the concert program:

August 3, 5, and 7:
Astoria Quartet (Flute, guitar, cello, accordion, song)
August 10, 12, and 14:
Giacomo Quintet (Viola, violin, cellos, voice)
August 17, 19, and 21:
Segovia Quartet (4 guitars)
August 24, 26, and 28: In the Châtelet Courtyard at the Pont d’Avignon
Grand Avignon Wind Quintet (Flutes, clarinet, bassoon, horn)
