Sunborn Barcelona- A Floating, Five-Star Yacht Hotel

Sunborn Barcelona

For travelers looking for unusual digs in Barcelona, the Sunborn Barcelona may be just the ticket. Expected to open in early 2013, the purpose-built, floating hotel is billed as “the world’s first 5-star luxury yacht hotel.” It will be located at the beginning of the Avenida Diagonal in the Port Forum Marina to the north of the city. The idea is to blend “fabulous five-star luxury” with “sleek superyacht cool”; think spa, swimming pool, two destination restaurants, open-lobby bar, cocktail club, and conference facilities. (The yacht hotel is 140 meters in length.)

There will be 167 guest rooms and 22 suites- all with custom-designed furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Mediterranean. 90% of the rooms and suites have balconies or terraces described as “outdoor living areas.” For more information about this new hotel concept, visit http://sunbornbarcelona.com/en.
