Taj Exotica Maldives Renovates, Reopens Presidential Suite

Luxury has a new place to hang its coat: The Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives has put in $400,000 to renovate its Rehendi Presidential Suite, which has just reopened.

Guests can now step from the suite onto a private 500-square-foot sand-deck, which stretches into the lagoon. Another touch we love is the glass-walled bathroom. Open-air spaces allow for relaxing and alfresco dining, while a 15-foot infinity pool and hammocks add to the luster.

The suite was remodeled by Singapore-based design firm James Park Associates to create elegant interiors, fittingly reflecting the name "Rehendi," which translates to "queen."

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa spreads along a pristine beach and lagoon. Jiva Grande Spa, which we hear holds true to authentic Indian treatments, offers a range of signature wellness experiences.

The resort is 15 minutes by a private speedboat from Malé International Airport.
