Want the latest out of paradise? We've got the scoop on what's been coming out of Bali lately. Here's what we have found.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will be joining the luxury ranks along Bali's coastline. We hear the company will open a new resort on the island's southern coast in 2016. The Fairmont Bali will offer 170 guest rooms and suites as well as branded residences. Guests will enjoy a variety of dining options, a spa, 18-hole golf course and more. A beach club will provide a backdrop for relaxing, swimming and a variety of water sports. Two-in-one: The resort will also be home to the 80-room Raffles Bali, featuring one, two or three bedroom villas and branded residences with private plunge pools, outdoor dining and relaxation areas.

Design junkies are going to love this: The Stairs Villa Hotel, envisioned by Philippe Starck, is going to break grown in Bali this year. The Stairs will be the first Starck fully designed villa hotel in Indonesia (think 12 limited edition villas with floor-to-ceiling glass facades). Public areas will include a cafe patisserie, restaurant, bar lounge, boutique, mezzanine, bibliotheque, signature spa and fitness facilities. The Stairs will open in the Petitenget neighborhood of Seminyak on Bali. Starck says that the design will not follow any time of current trend in design and architecture but will just be, "following the beauty of the Balinese soul and the future of the next centers of the world."

AYANA Resort and Spa Bali has announced the appointment of Vineet Mahajan as director of sales and marketing, in a move said to strengthen the brand and develop new markets as the resort enhances its meeting and conference facilities. Vineet will also be part of the pre-opening team for a separately-branded resort scheduled to open in late 2013 adjacent to AYANA. Having more than 16 years’ experience in the hospitality, telecom and investment banking industries, Vineet was most recently complex director of sales and marketing for Westin Gurgaon and Westin Sohna Resorts and Spa. Prior to that, he launched The Leela Palace New Delhi and The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon from pre-opening to the first year of operations as director of sales and marketing. Vineet said his immediate priorities are the relaunch of AYANA’s meeting facilities with an extended ballroom to cater for multinational meetings, conferences and events in a secure, high-tech environment. The extension increases the size of AYANA’s ballroom by around 50 percent, while the upgrade also features a new outdoor event space with four break-out rooms including a VIP reception room and a plenary meeting room seating 150 people.
