Traveling Gourmet: Four Seasons Atlanta's New Burger Bar

The hamburger, much like the lobster, has climbed the rungs of haute cuisine. What once started as a meal of the masses has evolved into an art of both preparation and indulgence. Yes, the burger is a form of indulgence. At least, that's how Chef Robert Gerstenecker of Park 75 at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta feels.

We hear Chef Gerstenecker has whipped up "Chef G's Burger Bar," which invites up to 16 random lunch-timers into the kitchen for an exclusive burger bonanza.

Guests will be seated on stools surrounding a communal table, where they will review the Burger Menu of the Day. Diners will choose four different types of burgers or burger-style sandwiches, served up with hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, loaded tater toss, poutine or onion rings. Nice touch: Soda served in a bottle from a vintage Coca Cola cooler will be available as well.

The menu options will change week-to-week and will remain a secret until diners are seated. Tip: Reservations are suggested, as the restaurant will only take 16 per week. Walk-ins will be based upon availability.

The Burger Bar will run every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:39 p.m. in 25-30-minute intervals.
