Unique in Europe: Record a Song at the Nhow Hotel Berlin

nhow hotel berlinNext time Jay-Z comes to Europe to record a song, he won’t have to bring his own equipment. (The rap genius bunked down at Le Meurice while working on N****s in Paris.) Spanish chain NH Hoteles has opened their second nhow hotel in Berlin-- the European capital of urban cool-- and it’s getting lots of press love. For one thing, the hotel has a “nhow Music Sound Floor” with professional recording studios managed by the folks behind Berlin’s Hansa Studios. nhow Berlin is the only hotel in Europe to offer these facilities.

Overlooking the river Spree, the nhow Berlin owes its architectural ethos to Sergei Tchoban, and its dreamlike interiors—energized with punches of color—to famous designer Karim Rashid. The 304 rooms are outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and amenities to appease music lovers. (Want to borrow a guitar? Just call down to reception.) There’s also a two-level fitness center with saunas and hammams, a restaurant, and a terrace for outdoor concerts in the summer months.
