Upcoming Amalfi Coast Hotel Gets Flavio Colantuoni as General Manager

Hansjoerg Maissen, vice president of the upcoming Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa in Conca dei Marini on the Amalfi Coast, has announced the appointment of Flavio Colantuoni as general manager of the hotel opening in May 2012.
 
Originally a 17th century monastery, Monastero Santa Rosa is being restored into an exclusive hotel, spa and hideaway. Set on the edge of a cliff, each of the 20 seafront guest rooms and suites will have panoramic views. The hotel will also offer a restaurant, several levels of gardens and a large infinity pool.
 
For the last two years, Colantuoni was the director of the Hotel President in Abano, Italy, one of the best known and the most up-to-date spa facility in Abano, Italy, home of 120 spa hotels. He has held managerial positions at the Ritter’s Park Hotel in Bad Homburg; Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, England; the Palace Hotel and Suvretta House in St. Moritz, Switzerland; the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, Switzerland and the Palazzina Grassi in Venice. His first position upon completing Hotel School was at the famed Excelsior Palace on the Lido in Venice. Colantuoni’s native language is Italian and he is fluent in English, French, and German.
 
Hansjoerg Maissen has held senior management positions in such hotels such as the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat, and the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. He was also regional director for Marriott Hotels Saudi Arabia where he oversaw the opening of the Athens Marriott and other Marriott hotels. Throughout his distinguished career Hans has earned many world renowned honors including being named three times as one of the “World’s Fifty Best Hoteliers” by the American Travel Digest Publication. Working closely with the owner of Monsastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa, he has been involved from the inception of the project.
