Vietnamese Wellness: The Anam Offers Packages to Fight Jet Lag

The Anam, a resort on Vietnam’s southern coastline, announced a series of wellness programs made to combat jet lag through private yoga sessions, detoxifying and slimming massages, green tea body scrubs and deep cleansing facials. They are available in three- and five-day packages.

After check-in, guests are given a 30-minute “anti-jet lag” massage focused on the lower back and feet. The resort then provides, in-villa, a candle-lit bath, goose down pillows and chamomile tea to help guests go to sleep. The resort’s yogi Umesh leads 60-minute yoga sessions around the property.

The three-day program includes a 60-minute ‘Sri Mara Arising’ signature massage, 30-minute green tea body scrub, 30-minute Balinese Boreh body wrap and 60-minute facial.

The signature massage, based on Vietnamese and Balinese techniques, is meant to relieve stress through the massage therapist’s focus on pressure points. The Balinese Boreh body wrap is based on an old, traditional healing mixture with ingredients including ginger, cloves, turmeric root and cardamom. The wrap is meant to increase blood circulation and decrease muscle pain and arthritis.

The five-day slimming and detoxifying program includes a 60-minute coffee body scrub and mud body wrap, three 60-minute detox and slimming massages and a 60-minute facial. The massages use lymphatic massage methods to increase blood flow and reduce water retention and inflammation in the stomach, buttocks and arms.

The programs include complimentary sunrise yoga by the beach, beach volleyball, a Southeast Asian sport known as sepak takraw and time at a gym. At an extra cost, the resort provides personal training sessions and water sports such as kayaking, bravo sailing, surfing, body-boarding and snorkeling.
